AHI Creature Figure!

AHI (Azrak-Hamway International) was involved with Remco (I can never keep track of which company owned which). Oddly enough, this Creature action figure predated the one from yesterday, and as you can see, it's a fully sculpted figure!

What's even odder is that AHI, who produced this line of figures (The "World's Greatest Super-Monsters") in competition with Mego (who apparently passed on the Universal license, instead marketing their own line of more generic Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf and Mummy Figures), actually produced a cheaper (as in less expensive) line of figures!

There were two versions of this figure produced, one with a narrower waist that's been designated as the "female" version. I should have that one in my files somewhere! But in the meantime, here's a photo of it out of the package!

  1. AHI also made 2 rubber jigglers (7" and 8"), a "Bend 'Em" (5"), a wind-up sparking walker and a squirt gun for each monster. 1973-4 era.

The Remco monsters (1980-1) also included two 3¾" figures (color and glow-in-the-dark) and "Monsters At Home" hand puppets.

  2. I think I've either already posted, or will post, all of the items you mentioned, before this blog comes to its end!

  3. Correction to my previous post. They only made Frankenstein, Creature and Kong squirt guns.

They were originally sold carded, or loose in a counter display box. A loose Greature recently sold on ebay for 2K+!

AHI also made 2 different Planet of the Apes squirt guns (carded and a different counter display).
